Product Search Tracking
Ecommerce product searches helps users get to the product they want without too much navigation. Tracking product searches can enable marketers optimize content and improve conversions. Set up product search tracking with these simple steps using CustomerLabs.
1.Login to your CustomerLabs account
2. Launch Action Recorder by clicking the camera icon
3. You will be redirected to your website and Action Recorder panel will open up
4. Click on โRecord Actionโ to start recording
5. Select the Action Name by clicking on โCustomโ (you can name it as โProduct searchโ in this case)
6. Change the Action Type to โOn clickโ
7. Then click on to go to your website
8. Select the search button on your website
9. After selecting the button you will be redirected to the Action Recorder panel, click on โSaveโ and then โNext | Post Action Triggerโ
10. In the attribute selection section, select the โsearch_stringโ as your attribute
11. Now click on to go to your website
12. Select the search box on your website
13. After selecting the search tab you will be redirected to the Action Recorder panel, click on โSaveโ and then โNext | Post Action Triggerโ
14. You can skip the next step by clicking on โNext | Tracking ruleโ
15. Choose the pages that you would like to start tracking for the above defined action and click โSaveโ and then โSave Actionโ
16. Awesome! Now you can track what your visitors type on your search bar!
